Megan is an associate attorney with the Deaton Law Firm, PLLC and has been with the firm since December 2018.
Megan is a native to Western North Carolina and grew up in Catawba County. She attended undergrad at UNC-Charlotte and moved to Durham for law school. After graduating from NCCU School of Law, she decided to return home to Catawba County in 2014 with her husband, Justin. During law school, she was a member of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity where she served as Clerk for two years, and she also participated in pro bono programs, such as the Elder Law program assisting elderly low-income individuals with estate planning documents. After becoming licensed in 2014, Megan started her legal career in the default services industry where she worked for four years with concentration in foreclosures and evictions, and she also practiced in residential real estate closings during that time. She is currently approved with the majority of underwriters in North Carolina, including Investors, First American, Fidelity, Old Republic, Alliant National, and Chicago Title. Since joining the Deaton Law Firm, Megan has continued her work in foreclosures, but has also expanded into commercial real estate transactions, county representation, and estate work. During her free time, Megan enjoys traveling to new places with her husband, Justin, and spending time with her close family and friends.
