Timothy is an associate attorney with the Deaton Law Firm, PLLC and has been with the firm since 2021.
Tim grew up on a small farm in rural Pennsylvania before moving to Pittsburgh to become a mechanical engineer. After he worked for a few months in the U.S. Steel building at an engineering firm, he transferred to Charlotte in 1997 and immediately fell in love with the South. Tim worked in Charlotte, Troutman, and Matthews for eighteen years as a product design engineer and then managed a manufacturing division of over thirty employees at a 150,000 sq ft facility in Statesville. He co-invented nine U.S. utility patents for construction and sports equipment and improved the manufacturability of many in-house and customer-designed products.
Tim and his wife, Martie, built upon their previous careers in engineering and medicine by pursuing a legal education together at Liberty University School of Law. Tim focused on intellectual property, real estate development, and business transactions. They both graduated, passed the bar exam, and began the practice of law in 2021. His stepson became an attorney in 2019, and his stepdaughter starts medical school in 2022.
Tim credits his success to strong relationships: a loving and supportive wife and family, kind mentors, knowledgeable co-workers and employees, and good friends. He enthusiastically helps his clients build their businesses on firm foundations along with the entire team at The Deaton Law Firm.
The Wallaces live in Cornelius with their two dogs, Deacon and Marbury, and two cats, Buck and Whooshie. They love to paddleboard on the lake, snowboard out west, golf where it’s cheap, and relax at the beach.
